In spring 2005, Thomas, Juergen, Roy, Fabian, Gege and Freddy regularly met up to do some slacklining in the surroundings of their hometown Wangen im Allgäu. Back then slacklining was hardly known, it probably wasn't even called a sport.
At these get togethers the most important thing was actually to find material that would work since there were no slackline sets available for sale in Germany. Together they tested and developed different lines and styles of set ups. Thomas Jakob (35) As an experienced alpinist and manager of a mountaineering store, Thomas always is very demanding to himself and also claims the best material for himself. Also at extreme highline-walks he is very successful. He has been part of the slackline scene since the beginning in Europe. His tips and tricks enrich the slackline communities. Jürgen Peter (35) With the development and production of slackline sets Jürgen went into a new direction with his company. Old craftsmenship combined with young thinking and a feeling for new trends helped Jürgen to produce a slackline set for a well known sports equipment developer. The material will withstand the hardest quests from the group. Roy Wiemers (35) For the physiotherapist slacklining is just part of his life. The focussing on the line shows him new ways to go. He sees those as an enrichment for everyday life and job. Fabian Straub (22) Employee of Thomas, young talent. Gerhard Spescha (35) Blacksmith and passionate slackliner. Frederik Zimmermann (23) Student in sports and business management, globetrotting slackliner. Demian Geyer (25) Studies mathematics and sports. His interest in sports and mountaineering brought him to slacklining. He can't get enough of this new sport. No matter if jump-, long- or highline, if there is a line moving in the wind he is on it, looking for his balance. International Friends Damian Cooksey (29) The californian Slackliner set a new goal at the Polish Slackline Open in march. He established the Longline record of 123,5 meters. In his hometown he often can be seen with his friend Dean Potter in the Yosemite National Park at the Lost Arrow Spire. Jon Ritson (30) Experienced slackliner from England. |
